Wow. You totally hit the nail on the head. We also have five children. I have been asked everyone of those questions at least once a month. It gets kinda old. Lol. We also have the added burden of having four girls and a baby boy, so now we get asked, "So you're done now, right?". Oy vey!

Your are truly blessed with 5 That is an awsome way of putting it. I also am a father but of 9. I have 7 girls and 2 boys and yes the boys are the youngest at 3 mon and 18 mon my oldest are twins at 14 I get the same responce's when we go places but I can say that having 9 is no different than 5 or 3 for that matter But it is all worth it.

Congratulations on your 5 kids. I'm a father of four myself and my wife and I are open to having as many kids as God will send us. I'm as environmentally-concerned as the next guy, but I'll leave the big oil corporations worry about draining the world's resources.

In any case, I relate 100% to everything you said on your post and wish you and your wife many many years of blessings and joy!

(I keep a blog, www.laiglesiaencasa.wordpress.com, where I talk about the life and times of a large - and still growing - family. It's in Spanish, though; my native tongue.

Regarding the subject of overpopulation, you mentioned a concern about draining the world's resources. I suppose that, like most people, you're concerned about the effects on the overall environment as well - things like global warming. But there's another impact that may get people's attention even faster, if only they knew about it - the impact on rising unemployment and poverty.

If you’re interested in learning more about this important new economic theory, I invite you to visit either of my web sites at OpenWindowPublishingCo.com or PeteMurphy.wordpress.com where you can read the preface, join in my blog discussion and, of course, purchase the book if you like. (It's also available at Amazon.com.)

Please forgive the somewhat spammish nature of the previous paragraph. I just don't know how else to inject this new perspective into the overpopulation debate without drawing attention to the book that explains the theory.

By the way, my approach to the overpopulation problem emphasizes the right of all families to choose to have however many children they like. How many children one chooses is no one else's business. The problem is the overall birth rate, not the number of children in any one family. We don't need to force everyone to have only one or two children. We simply need to influence family planning decisions (through economic incentives) in a way that those who would otherwise choose to have ten children decide to have only nine, those who would choose six to have only five, and so on.
