While our intent is for Cast of Dads to primarily be an an audio podcast, a couple of weeks ago we found that three of us were actually going to be in the same city at the same time: CC and I were both in Austin, Texas for SXSW, and DaddyBrad’s home court, DadLabs, is also based in Austin.  Since Brad and DadLabs have their own  video production studio in town, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to shoot our first video episode.  Being geeks as well as dads, we weren’t about to leave out Max in New York, and Michael in San Francisco, so we set each of them up with their own “laptop” and remarkably, it really felt like we were all in the same room together.  What do you think?  Special thanks to the entire Dad Labs team for being so generous with their studio!

Chapman, Jeffrey Sass, Max Kalehoff, Michael Sheehan, and Brad Powell, who collectively represent 13 kids from the youngest of babies to full grown adults. Each of them brings a unique perspective to being a father.
Jeff Sass is the proud dad of ZEO (Zach, 21, Ethan, 19 and Olivia, 18).  He is also a seasoned entertainment and technology exec and active social media enthusiast.  You can see more of Jeff’s writing at Sassholes!and Social Networking Rehab and you can listen to Jeff on the Cast of Dads podcast.??

Totally agree with the folks mentioning how skype/video chat have changed travelling for parents (and connecting with relatives that are in another location)…especially for little ones who are so visually cued and for whom the phone is a foreign concept at first. What a game changer for keeping in touch!
Also appreciate the “calling every day” thought….I try to do so in the morning to say good morning from the hotel and then before bed time (which gets hard on this east coaster when I am out in CA for business as the kids are down around 3:30 pm pst).
Enjoyed the show…

Thanks for watching the show. Skype/Video really does make a difference and is a great way to connect with our kids when we are apart. In the digital world we live in, it seems like a very natural and comfortable way to connect. Thanks for sharing your feedback!
