I am always on the look out for stupid holidays. When I was younger, before kids, this was a reason to drink. Not that I need a reason but I digress. Now I look for these “holidays” as a reason to have fun with my daughter.  July 7 according to TWiP was Father Daughter Take a Walk Together Day.
I propose that you don’t need a special day to do that. I say you take your kid our for a walk just you and them once a week. I am trying to do that with our daughter. I try to set aside some time just Daddy and Danni time.
Last night, we went to baseball game. The great thing about our ball park here in Memphis is that it had a playground and a little track that you could walk around the park on.
So take your kid out for a walk and have some fun. Here are some pics of me, my daughter, and my niece walking around during the baseball game on July 7.

My son and I (well he is only 20 months, so mostly at this point it is me) make up special days as a reason to do something cool. For example, this week my wife got some contract work so is working all five days. She hasn’t worked since he was born so this was a bit of a big deal. So, we made this week the first ever official “No Mommy Kick Ass Week” and have been doing lots of stuff together every day.
Even though he doesn’t fully understand the concept yet, I am hoping that as he gets older he takes part in making up these silly events and then we can enjoy them together.

Thanks Jeremaine. Danni and I have Daddy/Daughter Date nights. We go see a movie, go ride the merry go round, etc when Mom is busy or needs a break. I hope it continues when she gets older.

I just knew that there is a Father-Daughter take a walk together day since I really don’t care about such until now that I’m a dad with a 4-month old baby..I agree, it should not only today that we celebrate..let’s make it weekly…Our kids need our time too…
